| 1 | Cook pasta according to package directions. Set aside. |
| 2 | In a sauce pan, saute chopped onions and garlic in olive oil until onion is translucent. |
| 3 | Add carrots and celery and continue cooking for about 2 minutes. |
| 4 | Add the ground beef and cook until the meat is done and crumbly. |
| 5 | Add red wine (optional), water and chopped tomatoes and simmer until the sauce is thick (about 15 minutes). |
| 6 | Season with salt and pepper. |
| 7 | Arrange pasta on serving plates and top with Bolognaise sauce. |
