Ingredients:
4 cupSoy pulp (from making
-soymilk) or cooked cracked
-soybeans
2 cupWhole wheat flour
1 cupWheat germ
3/4 cupOil
1 1/4 cupSoymilk (or other liquid)
1 cupNutritional yeast flakes
1 1/2 tspFennel seed
1 tspBlack pepper
1/4 cupSoy sauce
3 tspOregano
2 tspSalt
1/2 tspCayenne
2 tbspBrown sugar
2 tbspGarlic powder
2 tbspWet mustard
2 tspAllspice
Procedures:
1Mix ingredients together.
2Oil oven-proof bowl or empty tin can.
3Fill it & cover with foil.
4Steam on rack for 1 ?hours, or pressure cook in 5 cups water for 30 minutes.
5Let cool, then slice and fry.
6here, in louisiana, we like things spicy, so i add a little more cayenne and mustard and some finely chopped onion and garlic to boot.
