Poppyseed thumbprint cookies

Ingredients:
1/2 cupUnsalted butter, room
-temperature
1/4 cupSugar
1 Egg yolk
1 tbspGrand marnier, * see note
1 1/3 cupFlour
1/4 tspSalt
2 tbspPoppy seeds
2 tspOrange peel, finely grated
1/4 cupRed currant jelly
Procedures:
1Recipe by: seattle times In a mixer, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
2Beat in the egg yolk and grand marnier.
3Gradually add the flour and salt, beating until thoroughly mixed.
4Beat in the poppy seeds and orange peel just to blend.
5Break off pieces of the dough and form into 1-inch balls.
6Place on ungreased baking sheets and make a thumb print in the center of each cookie.
7Spoon about ?teaspoon of the jelly in the centers.
8Bake in a preheated 350°F oven 12 minutes.
9Cool 5 minutes before transferring the cookies to wire racks.
