1Wash apples.

3Do not pare.
4Cut in quarters.

6Cook until very soft.
7Drain through jelly bag.
8Wash quinces.
9Remove stems, seeds, and blossom ends.
10Do not pare.
11Cut in small pieces.
12Cover with water.
13Cook slowly until very soft.
14Drain through jelly bag.
15Combine apple and quince juice in equal proportions.
16Use 2/3 cup sugar for each cup juice.
17Boil rapidly until jelly sheets from spoon.
