Ingredients:
1 lbsGround beef
1/3 cupOnion, chopped
1/3 cupCelery, chopped
2 Garlic cloves, minced
14 Slices French bread (?/td>

4 largeTomatoes, sliced ?inch

1 tspDried basil
1 tspDried parsley flakes
1 tspDried oregano
1 tspDried rosemary, crushed
1 tspGarlic powder
3/4 tspSalt
1/2 tspPepper
2 tspOlive oil or vegetable oil

3 tbspButter or margarine
3 tbspAll-purpose flour
1 1/2 cupMilk
1/3 cupParmesan cheese, grated
8 ozMozzarella cheese, shredded

Procedures:
1In a skillet, brown beef, onion, celery and garlic; drain and set aside.
2Toast bread; line the bottom of an ungreased 13x9x2-inch baking dish with 10 slices.
3Top with half of the meat mixture and half of the tomatoes.
4Combine seasonings; sprinkle half over tomatoes.
5Drizzle with 1 tsp oil.
6Crumble remaining bread over top.
7Repeat layers of meat, tomatoes and seasonings and oil.
8In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter; stir in flour until smooth.
9Gradually stir in milk; bring to boil.
10Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly, about 2 minutes.
11Remove from heat; stir in parmesan.
12Pour over casserole.
13Top with mozzarella.
14Bake, uncovered, at 350 °F for 40-45 minutes or until bubbly and cheese is golden brown.
15Yield: 8-10 servings
