Ingredients:
8 tbspButter or margarine
1/4 cupFlour
1 1/2 cupChicken broth
1 cupSour cream
1/8 tspNutmeg
1/8 tspPepper
Salt -- to taste
1/4 cupDry sherry
1/2 lbsBroad egg noodles -- cooked
Drained
4 1/2 cupCooked chicken -- cut up
1/2 lbsMushrooms, sauteed --
Sliced
1 cupSoft bread crumbs
1/2 cupParmesan cheese -- fresh
Grated
Procedures:
1Melt 4 tablespoons butter; stir in flour, and add broth and sour cream, stirring until thick.
2Add nutmeg, pepper and salt.
3Remove from heat and stir in sherry.
4Arrange noodles in 9x13 inch baking dish.
5Cover with chicken, mushrooms, and sauce.
6Melt remaining 4 tablespoons butter and mix with crumbs.
7Top casserole with crumbs and cheese.
8Bake in a preheated 350^ oven for 30 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
9May be made a day in advance, refrigerated, and baked when needed.
