Ingredients:
| 1/2
| cup | Butter | | 1/2
| cup | Margarine | | 1 1/4
| cup | C and H Powdered Sugar | | 1
| | Egg | | 1
| tsp | Vanilla | | 2
| cup | All-purpose flour | | 1
| tsp | Baking soda | | 1
| tsp | Cream of tartar | | 1/8
| tsp | Salt |

Procedures:
| 1 | Cream together butter, margarine and powdered sugar. | | 2 | Beat in egg and vanilla. | | 3 | Combine flour, soda, cream of tartar and salt and add to creamed mixture. | | 4 | Mix well. | | 5 | Divide dough in half. | | 6 | Form each half into a 2-inch round roll. | | 7 | Wrap in waxed paper or aluminum foil. | | 8 | Chill in refrigerator or freezer. | | 9 | Slice ?inch thick. | | 10 | Bake on ungreased cookie sheet in 350°F oven 8 to 10 min. cool on rack. | | 11 | Makes about 5 doz. | | 12 | Cookies. |
