Turtle cookies

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cupSifted flour
1/4 tspBaking soda
1/2 tspSalt
1/2 cupButter or margarine
1/2 cupBrown sugar, packed
2 Eggs
1/4 tspVanilla
Pecan halves
CHOCOLATE FROSTING
2 ozUnsweetened chocolate
1/4 cupMilk
1 tbspButter or margarine
1 cupSifted powdered sugar
Procedures:
1Resift flour with soda and salt.
2Cream ?cup butter and brown sugar together thoroughly.
3Add 1 whole egg and 1 egg yolk and beat well.
4Stir in vanilla.
5Add dry ingredients and mix well.
6Arrange pecan halves in groups of 3 or 5 on greased baking sheets to resemble head and legs of turtle.
7Roll rounded teaspoons of dough into balls.
8Dip bottom of each into remaining unbeaten egg white and press lightly onto nuts so tips of nuts show.
9Bake at 350f 10 to 13 minutes.
10Cool.
11meanwhile, to make frosting, combine chocolate, milk and 1 tablespoon butter in top of double boiler.
12Cook over simmering water, stirring until smooth.
13Remove from heat and beat in powdered sugar until smooth and glossy, adding more sugar if needed.
14Frost top of cookies.
