Ingredients:
1 1/2 cupWhole wheat flour
3/4 cupAll-purpose flour
-OR- oat flour
1/2 cupBrown sugar, firmly packed
1/4 cupWheat germ
1 tspBaking powder
1 tspCinnamon
2 Eggs, OR...
6 tbsp-Egg substitute
1/3 cupMargarine, melted
1/4 cupHoney
1/4 cupMolasses
1 tbspFinely grated orange peel
1 tspVanilla
1 cupOrange juice
1 cupChopped Calif. Dried Figs
3/4 cupGolden raisins
1/2 cupChopped walnuts
Procedures:
1Combine flours, sugar, wheat germ, baking powder and cinnamon.
2In smaller bowl, blend eggs, margarine, honey, molasses, orange peel, vanilla and orange juice with wire whip.
3Add liquid to dry ingredients, whip until smooth.
4Add figs, raisins, and walnuts.
5Spread in a greased 9 x 13 inch baking pan.
6Bake in a 300°F. oven 35 minutes, until it tests done.
