Top secret mrs. fields chocolate chip cookies

Ingredients:
1 cupSoftened butter
1/2 cupSugar
1 1/2 cupPacked brown sugar
2 Eggs
2 1/2 tspVanilla
2 1/2 cupAll purpose flour
3/4 tspSalt
1 tspBaking powder
1 tspBaking soda
18 ozSemisweet chocolate chips
Procedures:
1Preheat the oven to 350°F.
2In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter, sugars, eggs, and vanilla.
3Sift together the flours, salt, baking powder, and baking soda.
4Combine the wet and dry ingredients.
5Stir in chocolate chips.
6With your fingers, place golf-ball-size dough portions 2" apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
7Bake for 9 minutes, or until edges are light brown.
8Note: do not exceed baking time even if they look underbaked.
9Finished product should be soft in the middle and crunchy around the edges.
10Variations: substitute milk chocolate for the semisweet and/or add 1-?cups of chopped walnuts or macadamia nuts to the recipe before baking.
11For the best cookie, don"t substitute margarine for the butter.
