Ingredients:

| tbsp | Corn-starch | | 1/4
| tsp | Nutmeg | | 1
| cup | Chopped nuts | | 1
| cup | Sugar | | | Few grains salt | | 1/4
| tsp | Cloves | | 3
| | Egg whites, stiffly beaten | | 9
| tbsp | Powdered sugar |

Procedures:
| 1 | Combine sugar, corn-starch, salt, nutmeg, and cloves. | | 2 | Add to cream. | | 3 | Mix thoroughly. | | 4 | Cook over hot water, stirring constantly, until thick and smooth. | | 5 | Cool. | | 6 | Add nuts. | | 7 | Pour into baked individual pastry shells. | | 8 | Fold powdered sugar into egg whites. | | 9 | Pile lightly on top of pastry. | | 10 | Bake in slow oven (325°F) 20 minutes. | | 11 | The household searchlight |
