Ingredients:
1 1/2 cupSour cream, scalded
1 1/2 tbspCorn-starch
1/4 tspNutmeg
1 cupChopped nuts
1 cupSugar
Few grains salt
1/4 tspCloves
3 Egg whites, stiffly beaten
9 tbspPowdered sugar
Procedures:
1Combine sugar, corn-starch, salt, nutmeg, and cloves.
2Add to cream.
3Mix thoroughly.
4Cook over hot water, stirring constantly, until thick and smooth.
5Cool.
6Add nuts.
7Pour into baked individual pastry shells.
8Fold powdered sugar into egg whites.
9Pile lightly on top of pastry.
10Bake in slow oven (325°F) 20 minutes.
