Sour cream and raisin cookies

Ingredients:
1 cupSUGAR
1/2 cupSHORTENING
1 tspVANILLA
2 EGGS
2 cupALL-PURPOSE FLOUR
1/2 cupSOUR CREAM
1 tspBAKING SODA
1/2 tspBAKING POWDER
1/4 tspSALT
1/8 tspGROUND NUTMEG
1 1/3 cupRAISINS OR CURRANTS
Procedures:
1Heat oven to 375°F.
2Mix sugar, shortening, vanilla and eggs.
3Stir in remaining ingredients except raisins.
4Stir in raisins.
5Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls about 1-inch apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.
6Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown.
7Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet.
8Makes about 4 dozen cookies; 75 calories per cookie.
9Note: if using self-rising flour, omit baking soda, baking powder and salt.
10Use seedless raisins, not seeded, in this recipe.
11Seedless raisins are grown without seeds, whereas seeded raisins have had their seeds removed.
12For variety, try white raisins.
