Snowball cookies

Ingredients:
2 cupFlour, all-purpose
1/2 tbspSalt
3/4 cupButter (or margarine)
-softened
1/2 cupSugar
1 Egg
1 tbspVanilla extract
1 cupWalnuts, chopped
Confectioner's sugar
Procedures:
1Preheat oven to 350 °F.
2Grease cookie sheets lightly with unsalted shortening.
3sift together flour and salt.
4Work butter in a bowl until creamy.
5Add sugar and beat until well blended.
6Add egg and vanilla and beat well.
7gradually add sifted dry ingredients, beating well after each addition.
8Stir in walnuts.
9Shape dough into small balls about ?inch in diameter.
10place balls about 2 inches apart on prepared cookie sheets.
11Bake 12-15 minutes or until lightly browned.
12Roll balls in confectioners sugar while still warm.
13Roll again in sugar when cooled.
14store these in a tight container.
