| 1 | Preheat oven to 375°F. |
| 2 | Grease some cookie sheets. |
| 3 | Combine the butter and ?cup of the sugar, and beat until thoroughly blended. |
| 4 | Add the egg, egg yolk and vanilla, and beat until light and fluffy. |
| 5 | Stir together the flour, baking soda, salt and nutmeg, and add to the first mixture, mixing until thoroughly blended. |
| 6 | Stir in the walnuts and raisins. |
| 7 | Roll pieces of dough between the palms of your hands into 1-inch balls. |
| 8 | Combine the remaining ?cup sugar with the cinnamon. |
| 9 | Roll each ball in the cinnamon-sugar mixture, and place about 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets. |
| 10 | Bake for 10-to-12 minutes. |
| 11 | Remove from the sheets and cool on racks. |
