| 1 | Heat oven to 375°F. |
| 2 | Grease cookie sheet lightly. |
| 3 | Mix brown sugar, margarine, shortening, eggs and vanilla. |
| 4 | Stir in remaining ingredients. |
| 5 | Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls about 2-inches apart onto cookie sheet. |
| 6 | Flatten with greased bottom of glass dipped into sugar. |
| 7 | Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown; cool. |
| 8 | Makes about 6 dozen cookies; 85 calories per cookie. |
| 9 | Note: if using self-rising flour, omit baking soda and salt. |
