Pecan shortbread cookies

Ingredients:
3/4 lbsButter
1 cupConfectioners Sugar
3 cupFlour, sifted
1/2 tspSalt
1/2 tspVanilla
1/4 cupSugar
3/4 cupPecans, finely chopped
Procedures:
1Cream butter and confectioners" sugar together until light.
2sift flour and salt together and add to creamed mixture.
3Add vanilla and blend thoroughly.
4Add pecans.
5gather dough into a ball, wrap in wax paper, and chill until firm.
6roll out chilled dough to ? thickness.
7Using a cookie cutter, cut out cookies.
8Sprinkle tops with granulated sugar.
9Place cut out cookies on ungreased cookie sheet and refrigerate for 45 minutes before baking.
10preheat oven to 325°F.
11Bake for 20 minutes or until just starting to color lightly; cookies should not brown at all.
12Cool on rack.
