| cup | Sifted flour | | 1/2
| tsp | Salt | | 1/2
| tsp | Baking powder | | 1
| tsp | Cinnamon | | 1/2
| tsp | Ground cloves | | 1
| cup | Crisco shortening | | 1 1/2
| cup | Brown sugar | | 2
| | Eggs, beaten | | 2/3
| cup | Sour milk (Add lemon juice | | | -to regular milk) | | 1 1/3
| cup | Rolled oats | | 1
| cup | Raisins | | 1
| cup | Chopped nuts |

Procedures:
| 1 | Sift first five ingredients. | | 2 | Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs; beat until smooth. | | 3 | Add dry ingredients in small amounts alternatively with milk. | | 4 | (you may do this by hand). | | 5 | Stir in last three ingredients. | | 6 | Drop by teaspoonful onto greased cookie sheets. | | 7 | Bake at 350 deg. | | 8 | Until golden. |
