Ingredients:

| cup | Granulated sugar | | 2

| tbsp | Milk | | 2
| tbsp | Vanilla | | 1 3/4
| cup | All-purpose flour | | 1
| tbsp | Baking soda | | 1/2
| tbsp | Salt (optional) | | 2 1/2
| cup | Quaker oats (quick or old- | | | Fashioned, uncooked) | | 2
| cup | (1 12-oz. pkg.) semi-sweet | | | Chocolate morsels | | 1
| cup | Coarsely chopped nuts | | | (optional) |

Procedures:
| 1 | Heat oven to 37Beat margarine and sugars until creamy. | | 2 | Add eggs, milk, and vanilla; beat well. | | 3 | Add flour, baking soda and salt, mix well. | | 4 | Stir in oats, chocolate morsels and nuts; mix well. | | 5 | Drop by rounded measuring tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheet. | | 6 | (for easy bar cookies press dough instead into bottom of ungreased 13 x 9 inch baking pan). | | 7 | Bake cookies 9 to 10 mins for chewy and 12 to 13 for crispy (bake bar cookies 35 to 40 mins until light golden brown). | | 8 | Cookies: cool 1 min on cookie sheet; move to wire rack. | | 9 | Cool completely. | | 10 | About 5 dozen cookies. |
