Ingredients:
| 1/2
| cup | Butter, softened | | 1/2
| cup | Shortening | | 2
| cup | Brown sugar, firmly packed | | 2
| | Eggs | | 2 1/2
| cup | All purpose flour | | 1/2
| tsp | Salt | | 1
| cup | Pecans, chopped |

Procedures:
| 1 | Cream butter and shortening; gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy. | | 2 | Add eggs, beating well. | | 3 | Combine flour, soda and salt; add to creamed mixture, beating well. | | 4 | Stir in pecans. | | 5 | Drop dough by level tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart onto lightly greased cookie sheets. | | 6 | Bake at 350 °F for 12 to 15 minutes. | | 7 | Cool slightly on cookie sheets; remove to wire racks. | | 8 | Makes 5 dozen. | | 9 | Randy rigg |
