Ingredients:
3 cupBrown sugar
3/4 cupShortening
4 eachEggs
5 cupFlour
3/4 tspBaking soda
3/4 tspCream tartar
1 tspVanilla
Filling, cook together:
1 cupDates
1/2 cupNuts
1/2 cupSugar
1/2 cupWater
Procedures:
1Make into rolls and place in refrigerator for a few hours.
2Cut into thin slices and place cooled filling between slices.
3Bake in a slow oven.
4Note: slow oven is 300 - 350°F.
