Ingredients:
2 cupAll-purpose flour
1/2 cupSugar
2 1/2 tspAnise seeds
3/4 tspBaking powder
1/4 tspSalt
3 tbspVegetable oil
2 tspVanilla extract
2 Eggs, lightly beaten
Vegetable cooking spray
1 tspWater
1 Egg white, lightly beaten
1 1/2 tbspTurbinado sugar
Procedures:
1Recipe by: cooking light, may 1995, page 76 preparation time: 0:15 combine first 5 ingredients in a large bowl.
2Combine oil, vanilla, and eggs, and add to flour mixture, stirring until well-blended.
3turn dough out onto a baking sheet coated with cooking spray; shape dough into a 12-inch-long roll, and flatten to ?inch thickness.
4Combine water and egg white; stir well.
5Brush over dough.
6bake at 350 °F for 20 minutes.
7Remove from baking sheet to a wire rack, and let cool.
8slice roll diagonally into 26 (?inch) slices.
9Place slices, cut sides down, on a baking sheet.
10Brush slices with egg white mixture, and sprinkle evenly with turbinado sugar.
11bake at 350 °F for 20 minutes or until dry.
12Let cool on wire racks.
13Yield: 26 cookies (serving size: 1 cookie).
