Amish sugar cookies

Ingredients:
1 cupBUTTER SOFTENED
1 cupSUGAR
2 ea EGGS
1 cupPOWDERED SUGAR
2 tspVANILLA
3/4 tspCREAM OF TARTAR
1/2 tspSALT
1 cupOIL
4 1/2 cupFLOUR
Procedures:
1Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
2Beat in eggs.
3Then stir in powdered sugar, vanilla, cream of tartar and salt.
4Alternately add oil and flour beating until smooth and fluffy.
5Refrigerate for 2 hours.
6Heat oven to 350°F.
7Roll rounded tablespoonfuls of dough into balls.
8Place two inches apart on a lightly greased cookie sheet.
9Flatten each cookie with the bottom of a glass that has been lightly oiled and sugared.
10Bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
11Cool on wire rack.
