Ingredients:
4 lbsBeef short ribs
1 tspSalt (optional)
3/4 cupChopped onion
1 tbspVegetable oil
3/4 cupCatsup
1/2 cupAunt Jemima Syrup
-OR- Lite Syrup
1/3 cupLemon juice
3 tbspWorcestershire sauce
2 tbspPrepared mustard
1/4 tspPepper
Procedures:
1Trim excess fat from ribs.
2Place ribs and salt in 4-qt.
3Saucepan or dutch oven.
4Cover with water, bring to a boil.
5Cover; simmer 1-?to 2 hours or until tender.
6Meanwhile, saute onion in oil until tender.
7Add remaining ingredients; simmer 15 minutes.
8Drain ribs.
9Place on rack in broiler pan or over ash-colored coals on outdoor grill so meat is 6 to 7 inches from heat.
10Broil 10 minutes, turning occasionally.
11Baste ribs with sauce; continue broiling about 10 minutes, turning and basting frequently with sauce.
12Serve with remaining sauce, if desired.
