Ingredients:

| cup | Beans | | 1
| each | Lots of water | | 3
| each | Onions, diced | | 1/2
| cup | Soy sauce | | 2
| each | Vegetable bouillon cubes | | 5
| each | Cloves garlic, diced | | 2
| cup | Cheddar cheese, grated | | 8
| each | Tortillas |

Procedures:
| 1 | Use any kind of beans (pinto beans, or garbanzos, lentils, split pea or other legumes). | | 2 | Wash pinto beans in colander. | | 3 | Put in bowl. | | 4 | Cover with water to allow 3" of water above beans. | | 5 | Let sit overnight. | | 6 | Next morning wash again. | | 7 | Do not cook beans in soaking water. | | 8 | Place beans in pot. | | 9 | Cover with water to allow 3" above beans. | | 10 | Add onions, soy sauce, vegetable bouillon cubes and garlic. | | 11 | Bring to boil for 5 minutes, reduce heat and let simmer 6 hours. | | 12 | Check periodically to see that there is enough water covering beans, add more when necessary. | | 13 | Ladle into bowls, sprinkle with cheese, and serve with freshly steamed tortillas. | | 14 | Use leftovers for layered bean dip. | | 15 | Serves 8. |
