Sizzling rice soup # 2

Ingredients:
2 cupChicken broth
1/4 cupDiced ham
1/4 cupSmall shrimp
1/4 cupGreen peas
1/4 cupBamboo shoots
1 Large mushroom, cut up
1/2 tspSugar
Salt to taste
1 tspCornstarch
1/4 cupWater
1/4 cupLong grain parboiled rice
Procedures:
1Combine first seven ingredients in saucepan and bring to simmer.
2Salt to taste.
3Mix together cornstarch and water and add to soup.
4Simmer for five minutes.
5While soup is simmer- ing, pour oil for deep frying into wok.
6Heat wok to 450 degrees.
7Dip rice in hot oil briefly until it becomes crisp and puffs.
8Add to soup immediately and serve.
