Steamed cabbage-beef rolls with sauce

Ingredients:
1 Cabbage head
1 lbsLean ground beef
1/2 cupYellow onions, chopped
1 1/2 cupCooked rice
3 tbspMargarine, melted
1/2 cupSoft bread crumbs
1/4 tspGround sage
1/4 tspBlack pepper
1/2 tspSalt
1 dashGround nutmeg, optional

4 tbspMargarine
1/2 tspChili powder
1/2 tspSalt
2 tbspAll-purpose flour
2 cupTomato juice
Procedures:
1Recipe by: jo anne merrill preparation time: 0:45 Cut the core from cabbage.
2Under running water, carefully remove about 15 leaves to use for the recipe.
3Have about 2 quarts water boiling; add 1 teaspoon of salt.
4Dip the cabbage leaves in boiling water, 3 at a time, for about 3 minutes.
5Remove with tongs, drain and set aside.
6Mix the meat, onion, cooked rice, margarine, bread crumbs, sage, pepper, nutmeg and salt.
7Lay a cabbage leaf on a flat surface.
8Put 2-4 tablespoons of the mixture on each leaf, depending on the leaf size.
9Put the meat near the base of the leaf, fold leaf up and over the meat, turning under the sides.
10This will make about 15 rolls.
11Place the rolls, seam side down, in a greased 2-quart casserole dish.
12Make two layers of the rolls.
13Place this dish on rack over 2 inches of simmering water in wok or large heavy pan with rack.
14Cover pan or wok and steam for 35-40 minutes.
15tomato sauce: melt 4 tablespoons margarine in a skillet.
16Add the salt, chili powder and the flour.
17Mix to a smooth paste.
18Cook over high heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a boil.
19Remove from heat and slowly stir in the tomato juice.
20Return to heat and cook until it boils and thickens.
