| cup | BARBEQUE SAUCE **** | | 1/4
| cup | WHITE VINEGAR | | 1/4
| cup | WORCESTERSHIRE SAUCE | | 2
| tbsp | BROWN SUGAR | | 1
| tsp | SALT | | 2
| tbsp | SMOKE FLAVORING |

Procedures:
| 1 | * 4 - 5 lb. beef brisket, fat trimmed ** 3 cloves garlic, crushed or use 3/8 teaspoon garlic powder *** pepper should be minced with stem and seeds removed **** use mesquite, hickory or smoke flavored barbeque sauce *--------------------------------------------------------------------- ~* salt and pepper the brisket. | | 2 | In a large dutch oven, sear the meat on all sides, over high heat. | | 3 | Reduce heat and add enough water to cover the meat. | | 4 | Add onion, garlic and jalapeno. | | 5 | Bring to a boil. | | 6 | Lower heat and simmer, covered for 2 hours. | | 7 | Remove the meat and reserve the liquid. | | 8 | Preheat the oven 250 °F. | | 9 | Return brisket to pot. | | 10 | Combine barbeque sauce, vinegar, worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, salt and smoke flavoring. | | 11 | Pour mixture over meat. | | 12 | Cover and bake for 4 hours. | | 13 | While brisket is cooking place reserved liquid in a sauce pan and reduce by 2/3 over medium high heat. | | 14 | Set aside and keep warm. | | 15 | Remove brisket from pot and let stand for 15 minutes before slicing. | | 16 | Pour reduce liquid over the sliced brisket and serve |
