Hearty vegetable beef soup

Ingredients:
2 lbsStew beef, cubed
3 1/2 quartWater
1 Onion, chopped
1 tbspSalt
1/2 tspThyme
1/2 cupSplit peas
6 Carrots, sliced
3 cupCelery, diced
1 Green pepper, diced
3 Medium tomatoes, cubed
1 1/2 cupCorn
2 Onions, sliced
1 Large potato, cubed
1 cupSpinach, chopped
1 cupGreen beans, chopped
1 cupGreen peas
1 cupLima beans
1 cupKetchup
2 tbspParsley, chopped
Procedures:
1In large kettle, cover beef with water and add chopped onion, salt, thyme.
2Bring to boil.
3Skim fat from surface.
4Add split peas, cover and simmer over low heat, 3-4 hours.
5Add all remaining ingredients.
6Cover and simmer 30 minutes.
7Adjust seasoning
