Ingredients:
2 cupCalifornia dried figs
-- (about 24 figs)
1/2 cupPort (or sherry)
1/4 cupRicotta cheese
Whole natural almonds
-- toasted
Procedures:
1Cover figs with water in a saucepan.
2Bring to boil; cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
3Drain; place figs in small bowl along with port.
4Cover and chill overnight.
5Drain.
6Remove stems; slice figs partially through in an x pattern.
7Fill with small spoonfuls of ricotta cheese.
8Top with a whole almond, pressed halfway into cheese.
