Ingredients:

| lbs | Pork spareribs , cut in half | | 3
| tbsp | Sugar | | 8
| | Green onions , 4 to 5 | | | -inches long | | 1/4
| cup | Soy sauce | | 1
| tbsp | Rice wine , or dry sherry | | 5
| tbsp | Water | | 2
| tbsp | Rice vinegar , or white vine | | | -gar |

Procedures:
| 1 | Recipe by: jih@acpub.duke.edu | | 2 | Put the green onions in the bottom of a large saucepan. | | 3 | Place the spareribs on top of the green onions. | | 4 | Add the wine, vinegar, sugar, soy sauce, and water. | | 5 | Cover and bring to a boil over high heat then reduce heat to low. | | 6 | Cook about 2 hours, then serve hot. | | 7 | Makes about 4 servings. | | 8 | Note: ----- this recipe is really nice, and good for weekends. | | 9 | I suggest you serve it with white rice to soak up all the liquid. | | 10 | I think the name is supposed to indicate how simple it is - it"s from an old chinese cookbook. |
