Real root beer

Ingredients:
5 quartWater
1/4 ozHops
1/2 ozDried burdock root
1/2 ozDried yellow dock root
1/2 ozDried sarsaparilla root
1/2 ozDried sassafras root
1/2 ozDried spikenard root
1 1/2 cupSugar
1/8 tbspGranulated yeast
Procedures:
1Simmer herbs for 30 minutes.
2Add sugar, stir to dissolve.
3Cool to lukewarm, add yeast and stir well.
4Cover and let sit for 1 hour.
5Note: the instructions do not say this but i would strain the mixture before adding the yeast.
6Then add the yeast, bottle and tightly seal the containers.
7Store for a few days at room temperature, then transfer to a coooool place lest you have glass grenades.
