Ingredients:
1 cupButter, melted
3/4 cupBrown sugar, firmly packed
1 1/2 cupPecans, chopped fine, *
2 1/2 cupAll-purpose flour, sifted
1/2 tspBaking powder
1 cupSemi-sweet chocolate chips
Procedures:
1* divided in ?cup portions
2this is an easy yet elegant butter-pecan cookie shaped to resemble an acorn and dipped in melted chocolate chips and chopped pecans.
3preheat oven to 375?
4in a large bowl, beat together butter, brown sugar, ?cup chopped pecans and vanilla on medium speed until well blended.
5Add flour and baking powder and mix well, using low speed.
6shape dough into 1-inch balls.
7Slightly flatten by pressing balls onto ungreased cookie sheets; pinch tops to point to resemble acorns.
8Bake for 10-12 minutes at 375?
9Remove from oven and cool on wire racks.
10in top of a double boiler over simmering water, melt chocolate chips, stirring until smooth.
11Remove from heat; keep double boiler over water.
12Dip large ends of cooled cookies into melted chocolate, then roll in chopped pecans.
13Cool to set chocolate.
