Ingredients:
3/4 cupMargarine or butter
-- softened
1 cupPeanut butter
1 1/2 cupBrown sugar, firmly packed
1/3 cupWater
1 Egg
1 tspVanilla
3 cupQuaker Oats, uncooked
-- (quick or old-fashioned)
1 1/2 cupAll-purpose flour
1/2 tspBaking soda
Granulated sugar
Procedures:
1Beat together margarine; peanut butter and sugar until creamy.
2Add water, egg and vanilla; beat well.
3Add combined oats, flour and baking soda; mix well.
4Cover; chill about 1 hour.
5heat oven to 350°F.
6Shape dough into 1-inch balls.
7Place on ungreased cookie sheet; flatten with tines of fork dipped in granulated sugar to form crisscross pattern.
8Bake 9 to 10 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
9Cool 2 minutes on cookie sheet; remove to wire rack.
10Cool completely.
11Store tightly covered.
