Oregon hazelnut oatmeal cookies

Ingredients:
1 cupShortening
1 cupGranulated sugar
1 cupLight brown sugar

2 Eggs
1 tspVanilla
1 1/2 cupSifted all-purpose flour

1 tbspSifted all-purpose flour
- (divided)
1 tspBaking soda
3/4 tspSalt
2 1/2 cupQuick oats, uncooked
1 cupFinely chopped hazelnuts
-(Oregon hazelnuts)
1 cupFinely diced dried apricots
1 cupChopped vanilla milk chips
Procedures:
1Combine shortening, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla in large bowl.
2Beat at medium speed of electric mixer until well blended.
3Combine 1-?cups flour, baking soda and salt.
4Stir into creamed mixture with spoon.
5Stir in oats, then the hazelnuts.
6Toss apricots with remaining 1 tablespoon flour.
7Stir into dough.
8Stir in milk chips.
9Shape into 1-?inch balls.
10Flatten slightly.
11Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.
12Bake at 350f for 11 to 13 minutes, or until slightly moist in center and just beginning to brown around edges.
13Remove immediately to waxed paper covered paper towels.
