| 1 | Combine sugar, oats and flour. |
| 2 | Cut in butter and lard as in making pastry. |
| 3 | Lastly add the soda dissolved in the sour milk. |
| 4 | Work together till it forms a dough. |
| 5 | Then form into a large roll and chill at least overnight. |
| 6 | Slice very thin for a crisp cookie and place on greased cookie sheets. |
| 7 | Bake at 375f |
