| tsp | SODA | | 1/4
| tsp | SALT | | 3/4
| cup | QUICK OATS | | 3/4
| cup | DARK BROWN SUGAR, PACKED | | 3/4
| cup | SUGAR | | 1
| cup | BUTTER, SOFTENED | | 2
| large | EGGS | | 2
| tsp | VANILLA EXTRACT | | 1
| cup | CHOPPED PECANS (4 OZ) | | 1
| cup | SEMISWEET CHOCOLATE CHIPS |

Procedures:
| 1 | Preheat oven to 300°F. | | 2 | In a medium bowl combine flour, soda, salt, and oats. | | 3 | Mix well and set aside. | | 4 | In a large bowl blend sugars with an electric mixer at medium speed. | | 5 | Add butter and mix to form a grainy paste. | | 6 | Scrape down sides of bowl, then add eggs and vanilla. | | 7 | Beat at medium speed until light and fluffy. | | 8 | Add the flour mixture, pecans and chocolate chips and blend at low speed just until combined. | | 9 | Drop dough by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheets, 1 ?inches apart. | | 10 | Bake for 20-22 minutes. | | 11 | Immediately transfer cookies to a cool, flat surface. |
