Mother's lucious apricot bars (christmas)

Ingredients:
2/3 cupDried apricots
CRUST
1/2 cupButter/margarine, softened 1 c Flour, sifted
1/4 cupSugar
TOPPING
1/3 cupFlour, sifted 2 ea Eggs, well beaten
1/2 tspBaking powder ?ts Vanilla
1/4 tspSalt ?c Pecans, chopped fine
1 cupBrown sugar, packed
Procedures:
1Cover apricots with water.
2Boil 10 minutes.
3Drain, cool and chop.
4Grease 7x11x2 inch baking pan.
5Mix until crumbly butter, sugar and 1 cup flour.
6Pack evenly in pan.
7Bake 350°F for 25 min. or until lightly browned.
8Sift together 1/3 c. flour, baking powder and salt.
9Beat eggs and brown sugar together.
10Add flour mixture, vanilla, apricots, and nuts.
11Spread over baked layer.
12Bake 30 minutes, or until done.
13Cool in pan.
14Cut in bars.
15Roll in 4x sugar.
16Store in tin box between layers of wax paper.
