Molasses-ginger bars

Ingredients:
1/2 cupButter Or Margarine, Softened
1/2 cupBrown Sugar, Packed
1/2 cupMolasses
1 eachEgg, Large
1 1/2 cupFlour, Unbleached
1 1/2 tbspBaking Powder
1 tbspGinger, Ground
1/2 tbspSalt
1/4 tbspBaking Soda
1/3 cupWater
1/2 cupRaisins
TOPPING
1 xPowdered Sugar
Procedures:
1In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter or margarine and brown sugar till mixture is light and fluffy.
2Add molasses and egg; beat well.
3Thoroughly blend flour, baking powder, ginger, salt and baking soda.
4Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture alternately with water; mix well.
5Stir in raisins.
6Pour mixture into greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
7Bake at 350 °F for 20 to 25 minutes.
8Cool thoroughly; sift powdered sugar on the top and cut into bars.
9Makes 36 bars.
