| cup | Sugar | | 1
| oz | Unsweetened chocolate | | | -melted (1 oz) | | 1

| cup | Buttermilk | | 1
| tbsp | Vanilla extract | | 1 3/4
| cup | All-purpose flour | | 1/2
| tbsp | Baking soda | | 1/4
| tbsp | Salt | | 3
| pack | Pep-O-Mint LIFE SAVERS | | | -Holes (0.35 oz ea) | | 1/2
| cup | Walnuts, chopped |

Procedures:
| 1 | In large bowl with mixer at medium speed, beat margarine, sugar, melted chocolate and egg until creamy. | | 2 | Stir in buttermilk and vanilla until smooth. | | 3 | Mix in flour, baking soda and salt until blended; stir in holes and walnuts. | | 4 | Cover and chill dough at least 1 hour. | | 5 | drop dough by level tablespoonfuls, 2" apart, onto ungreased baking sheets. | | 6 | Bake at 400°F. | | 7 | For 8-10 minutes or until set. | | 8 | Remove from sheets, cool on wire racks. | | 9 | makes 3 dozen cookies. |
