| 1 | Mix sugar and butter. |
| 2 | Add egg and flavorings. |
| 3 | Mix thoroughly. |
| 4 | Mix flour soda and cream of tartar. |

| 6 | Refrigerate for 2 to 3 hours. |
| 7 | Heat oven to 375°F. |
| 8 | Divide dough in half and roll to a thickness of 3/16" on a floured surface. |
| 9 | Cut with cookie cutter to desired shape. |
| 10 | Place on lightly greased cookie sheets. |
| 11 | Recipe makes a very tender dough. |
