| 1 | Cream crisco, sugar, milk, and vanilla in a large bowl at medium speed until well blended. |
| 2 | Beat in egg. |
| 3 | Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a small bowl. |
| 4 | Add to creamed mixture slowly. |
| 5 | Cover and let stand in refrigerator over night. |
| 6 | Heat oven to 3750°F. |
| 7 | Roll half the dough at a time to about 1/8" thick. |
| 8 | Cut in desired shapes. |
| 9 | Place 2" apart on baking sheet. |
| 10 | Sprinkle with colored sugar if desired. |
| 11 | Bake for 7 to 9 minutes at 375°F. |
| 12 | Allow to cool for 1 minute, remove to cooling rack. |
| 13 | Decorate with frosting when cool, if desired. |
