Italian soft cookies

Ingredients:
6 Eggs
4 tbspMelted shortening
1/2 Box ( ?lb) confectioners
Sugar
1 tbspLemon extract
1/4 tspAnise oil or extract
3 tbspBaking powder
3 cupFlour
Frosting:
Milk, confectioners
Sugar, colored jimmies
Procedures:
1Beat eggs vwey well and blend in sugar, melted shortening and flavorings.
2Sift flour and baking powder and add to mixture to make a soft dough.
3If to sticky, add a bit more flour for a soft dough.
4Shape into 2 large fat long rolls and flatten tops with finger tips.
5Place each on a greased cookie sheet and bake 375°F for 20 minutes or light golden.
6Cool, frost and slice on the diagonal.
7For fosting, mix a little milk and powder sugar to make a thin frosting.
8With pastry brush, brush over cookie rolls and sprinkle with colored jimmies.
9Cut when cold.
