| cup | Brown sugar | | 1

| tsp | Baking soda | | 1/8

| cup | Quick oats | | 1
| cup | Shredded coconut | | 1
| cup | Macadamia nut bits | | 1
| cup | Semi-sweet chocolate pieces |

Procedures:
| 1 | Preheat electric oven to 325°F. | | 2 | In large bowl of electric mixer, cream shortening and sugars until light and fluffy. | | 3 | Add egg and vanilla; beat well. | | 4 | Sift flour with baking powder, baking soda, and salt; gradually mix into creamed mixture. | | 5 | Stir in remaining ingredients. | | 6 | Shape into 1-?inch balls. | | 7 | Place on ungreased baking sheets and flatten with the bottom of a glass dipped in flour. | | 8 | Bake for 15 minutes or until lightly browned. | | 9 | Makes 3 dozen large cookies. |
