Ingredients:
1/2 cupButter
1/2 cupUnsulfured molasses
1/2 cupMilk
3 1/2 cupAll-purpose flour
1 tspBaking powder
1 tspGinger
1/2 tspSalt
1/2 tspBaking soda
1/2 tspCloves
1/2 tspCinnamon
1 largeEgg
1 cupSugar
Procedures:
1Melt butter and molasses in saucepan over medium heat.
2Stir in milk.
3Pour into mixer bowl; cool.
4Combine flour, baking powder, ginger, salt, baking soda, cloves and cinnamon in bowl.
5Beat egg and sugar into cooled molasses mixture.
6At low speed, gradually stir in dry ingredients to form smooth dough.
7Wrap and refrigerate 2 hours or overnight.
8preheat oven to 37Lightly grease 2 cookie sheets.
9On lightly floured surface with floured rolling pin, roll dough ?inch thick.
10Cut with 2 inch decorative cookie cutters.
11Bake 10-12 minutes, until lightly browned.
12Cool on wire racks.
13Decorate as desired.
14Makes 4 dozen.
