Ingredients:
2 cupSifted all-purpose flour
1 tspBaking powder
1/2 tspSoda
1/2 tspSalt
2 tspGinger
1/2 tspAllspice
1/2 tspCinnamon
1/2 cupShortening, soft
1/2 cupBrown sugar, firmly packed
2 Eggs
1/2 cupLight molasses
1 cupCooked oatmeal, cooled*
Procedures:
1Sift together flour, baking powder, soda, salt and spices into bowl.
2Add remaining ingredients.
3Beat until smooth, about 2 minutes.
4Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cooky sheets.
5Bake in preheated moderate oven (375°F).
612 to 15 minutes.
7Remove from cooky sheets; cool.
8Sprinkle with confectioners" sugar, if desired.
9*note: cook quaker oats (quick or old fashioned, uncooked) according to package directions.
