Ingredients:
| 1/2
| cup | Shortening | | 1
| cup | Brown sugar, packed | | 1
| | Egg | | 1/2
| cup | Sour cream | | 1 1/2
| tsp | Vanilla | | 3
| cup | Chocolate chips, divided | | 1 3/4
| cup | Flour | | 1/2
| tsp | Salt | | 1/2
| tsp | Baking powder | | 1/2
| tsp | Baking soda | | 1/2
| cup | Walnuts, chopped |

Procedures:
| 1 | Heat oven to 350. | | 2 | Cream shortening with sugar. | | 3 | Mix in egg, sour cream, vanilla. | | 4 | Melt 1 ?cups chocolate chips and blend with creamed mixture. | | 5 | Stir flour with salt, baking powder, baking soda. | | 6 | Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture, stirring until smooth. | | 7 | Fold in nuts and remaining chocolate chips. | | 8 | Chill dough ?hour. | | 9 | For giant cookies, use ice cream scoop or ?cup dough for each cookie. | | 10 | Place on 3 greased baking sheets. | | 11 | Flatten slightly to 3 inches. | | 12 | Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or unti still slightly soft in the center. | | 13 | Makes 16 giant cookies. |
