| 2 | Preheat oven to 375 degrees. |
| 3 | Combine flour, baking soda and salt; set aside. |
| 4 | Cream together butter or shortening and sugars until light and fluffy; beat in egg and vanilla. |
| 5 | Blend in flour mixture slowly. |
| 6 | Stir in m&m"s and nuts. |
| 7 | Drop heaping teaspoonsful onto an ungreased cookie sheet. |
| 8 | Bake for 8-11 minutes until browned. |
| 9 | Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet then remove to wire rack to cool. |
| 10 | Makes about 5 dozen 2-inch cookies. |
