Ingredients:
2 cupFlour
3 tspBaking powder
1/2 tspSalt
2 tbspSugar
2 tspShortening
3/4 cupMilk
1 cupCooked figs, chopped and
-well drained
1 Egg, well beaten
Procedures:
1Sift flour, measure, and sift with baking powder, salt, and sugar.
2Cut in shortening with 2 spatulas.
3Slowly add enough milk to form a soft dough.
4Turn onto lightly floured board.
5Roll in sheet ?inch thick.
6Cut in 4-inch squares.
7Place 2 tablespoons chopped figs on ?of each.
8Moisten edges with cold milk.
9Fold.
10Press edges together.
11Brush tops with egg mixed with 1 tablespoon milk and 1 teaspoon sugar.
12Place on slightly oiled baking sheet.
13Bake in hot oven (450°F) 20 minutes.
