Ingredients:
1 cupChopped figs (about ?lb)
1/3 cupWater
1 cupButter
1/2 cupSugar
1/2 cupBrown sugar, firmly packed
1 Egg
1 tspVanilla
2 cupSifted flour
2 tspBaking powder
1/2 tspSalt
Procedures:
1Cook figs with water, stirring frequently,thickened (about 5 minutes).
2Set aside to cool.
3Beat butter with sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
4Beat in egg and vanilla.
5Blend well.
6Sift together flour,baking powder, and salt.
7Mix into the creamed mixture.
8Stir in the cooled figs.
9Drop by teaspoons onto lightly greased cookie sheets.
10Bake 375 degrees 10 to 12 minutes, until lightly browned.
11Remove cookies and cool on wire racks.
12Makes about 4 dozen.
