Eggnog thumbprints

Ingredients:
3/4 cupButter or margarine
1/2 cupSugar
1/4 cupPacked brown sugar
1 Egg
1/2 tspVanilla
1/4 tspSalt
2 cupAll-purpose flour
1/4 cupButter or margarine
1 cupSifted powdered sugar
1 tbspRum*
Procedures:
1Ground nutmeg
2*you may substitute 2 tbls milk and ?tsp rum extract for the rum.
3in a large mixer bowl beat ?c butter or margarine till softened.
4Add sugar and brown sugar and beat till fluffy.
5Add egg, vanilla, salt, and beat well.
6Add flour and beat till well mixed.
7Cover and chill about 1 hour or till easy to handle.
8shape into 1 inch balls.
9Place 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
10Press down centers with thumb.
11Bake in a 350 degree oven about 12 minutes or till done.
12Remove and cool.
13for filling, in a small mixer bowl beat ?c butter or margarine till softened.
14Add powdered sugar and beat till fluff.
15Add rum and beat well.
16Spoon about ?tsp filling into center of each cookie.
17Sprinkle with nutmeg.
18Chill till filing is firm.
19Makes about 50.
